What data we process and why

Browsing the website

The server hosting the website records the IP address, date and time, requested page and browser type in its technical logs. This data is used only to keep the website working and secure (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is kept for as long as strictly necessary. The website uses no analytics or profiling tools.

Enquiries and bookings

If you write to us or call us, we process the data you provide (name, contact details, dates of stay, number of guests) to answer you and manage any booking (pre-contractual measures and performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Enquiries not followed by a booking are deleted within 12 months.

During your stay

During your stay we process the data required by Italian law: identity document details to be reported to the police (Art. 109 TULPS, “Alloggiati Web” service), data for tourism statistics and for the Florence tourist tax, and tax and accounting data (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). Tax records are kept for 10 years.

Who we share data with

  • The website hosting and e-mail provider (HostGator, Newfold Digital group), acting as data processor. Its servers are located in the United States: the transfer takes place with the safeguards provided for by Articles 44 et seq. GDPR.
  • Public authorities, where required by law (police, municipality, statistics offices, tax authorities).

Your data is never sold or used for marketing.

Map and external links

The “Location” and “Contact” pages show an OpenStreetMap map: when it is displayed, your browser connects to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (United Kingdom), which receive your IP address. The map does not set cookies. Links to other websites (such as TripAdvisor) lead to services with their own privacy notices.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies — no profiling, analytics or third-party cookies, and no technical cookies for visitors — which is why no cookie banner is shown. The language is set by the page address (/en/, /es/). Only site administrators, when logging in to the admin area, receive the technical WordPress cookies required for login.

Your rights

You may at any time request access to, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15–22 GDPR), by writing to info@sanibnb.it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it).
